Born to a Yorkshire farming family, I taught Special Needs in UK before migrating to Western Australia with my family in 1988, where we established a commercial goat dairy in Gidgegannup, in the Perth Hills.

Retiring from farming enabled me to pursue my neglected interest in art, by taking a TAFE Certificate 4 (Visual Art & Craft) and OUA course (B.A, Fine Art). These studies gave me skills and confidence to strike out on my own.

I’m now settled in beautiful, bio-diverse Albany W.A., and I am rapidly developing my artistic practise here.

I’m the founding member of Down South Arts & Crafts Collective Inc, and my paintings, photographic prints, greeting cards and jewellery are available from the Down South store on Stirling Terrace 7 days a week. I’m also a member of Albany Botanical Art Group, Albany Art Group, the Botanical Art Society of Australia, and the Wildlife Art Society of Australasia.

My artwork is inspired by nature, and by the current ecological issues. In spot-lighting the beauty of our world, and, in particular, by focusing on our many local rare and endangered species, my objective is to arouse public awareness of the damage currently being done to our precious eco-systems world-wide.
By highlighting exactly what we are losing, I hope to encourage people to take action against inaction, and to constructively help to shape a sustainable and ecologically balanced future for our planet.
